How to report a person or content in Atmospheric
Atmospheric is a private messenger. Conversations are end-to-end encrypted, which means we cannot read them — not to moderate, not to investigate, not on request. That shapes everything on this page, so it is worth stating first.
Block the person. Open the chat, open the contact, choose Block. A blocked person cannot message or call you, and does not learn that they were blocked. This works immediately and does not involve us.
Leave the group. You can leave any group at any time. If you were its only administrator, administration passes to another member.
Delete the conversation. Clearing a chat removes it from your device.
Write to support@getatmospheric.com if you encounter:
Because messages are encrypted, we see none of what you describe. A report that says only “this user is abusive” leaves us nothing to act on — we cannot open the conversation and check.
Please include:
Screenshots are the only way we can see the content. This is the cost of end-to-end encryption, and we would rather explain it than pretend otherwise.
We read every report. We answer within three business days, and sooner when someone appears to be in immediate danger.
Depending on what we find, we may restrict or remove the reported account. We do not tell the reported person who reported them.
We do not act on reports we cannot verify, and we say so plainly: with encrypted content and no evidence, a report is one person's word about another, and acting on it would make the service easier to weaponise than to use.
Contact your local emergency services first. We are a small team and cannot respond at the speed an emergency requires.
